Location:
Portsmouth

Rate:
£12.50 per hour (PAYE)

Duration: 3-4 months, with the view to go perm thereafter

A leading UK Electronics Manufacturing company require an experienced Solderer to work within their Surface Mount / Soldering department.

This is an initial 3-4 month contract role with the view to being transitioned into a permanent role later in the year.


Please note:

You must be certified or have been previously certified to IPC-610 standard (certificates can be out of date by 6 months maximum) otherwise we will not be able to consider you for this role.

At interview stage, you will be required to undertake a colour-blindness test for component recognition purposes.


Solderer Requirements:


  • Previous experience of working within a Military / Defence or equivalent highend production environment
  • Certified to (or previous certification of) IPC610 standards (or higher)
  • Previous experience of soldering, both through hole and surface mount
  • Experience of soldering, wires, components and terminals onto boards
  • Must have excellent component recognition skills

Solderer Responsibilities:


  • Assembling and soldering of components onto PCB's
  • Throughhole & Surface Mount soldering, using soldering irons and hot air guns
  • Mechanical assembling of various products
  • Adhering and working to IPC soldering standards
  • Soldering units, wires, PCB's connectors and cables
  • Basic testing using different pieces of Automatic Test Equipment
