Integrated Respiratory Team

Do you want to work in a team that has won the "Best Team of the Year" at King's College Hospital?


King's College Hospital Integrated Respiratory Team is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic respiratory practitioner to join their successful team.

The Integrated Respiratory Team is a dynamic service working across traditional boundaries and includes a large Pulmonary Rehabilitation programme.

The team is headed by an Integrated Respiratory Consultant and a Clinical Lead Nurse/Physio and is comprised of experienced Respiratory Nurse Specialists, Physiotherapists, Tobacco Dependence Specialists, technical assistants and administrators supporting respiratory patients in Lambeth and Southwark.

The Integrated Respiratory Team provides a seven-day service (9am to 5pm) with the following aims:

  • Improve outcomes for people with COPD and adult asthma.
  • Facilitate selfmanagement for people with COPD and adult asthma.
  • Promote responsible respiratory prescribing, including oxygen.
  • Support colleagues to improve COPD and adult asthma diagnosis, and associated routine management.
  • Provide community and hospital based pulmonary rehabilitation programmes for patients with respiratory disease in Lambeth and Southwark.


The post involves working in King's emergency department, medical wards, home visits, community locations, covering specialist clinics supported by our integrated consultant, and close liaison with the in-patient respiratory teams.

Applicants must meet the following essential criteria;

  • Significant NHS discharge experience
  • Attended a post-graduate course/study day(s) on a respiratory theme

Assessment and management of people with COPD and adult asthma, in clinic, home visits and inpatient settings.

Promotingresponsible respiratory prescribing, including oxygen therapy.

Supporting colleagues to improve COPD and adult asthma diagnosis, and associated routine management.

Be able to work weekends as per rota.

Have a full driving licence (the team have access to a pool car)
