Summary


We are a small rural Church of England primary school, seeking to appoint a teaching assistant who can work alongside the class teacher in supporting EYFS This support would be both classroom based and structured outdoor provision but would also include support during unstructured times such as playtime and working on specific targets.

We are looking for an applicant who can rise to the challenges of a mixed age classroom.


The person we appoint will:
- have the skills and knowledge to support an Early Years setting
- have experience in working in the EYFS framework
- have experience supporting neuro diverse children
- have an understanding and/or experience of de-escalation and engagement techniques to support challenging behaviour.
- has the ability to work as part of a team.
- is able to liaise with team members and has good communication skills
- will offer to go the extra mile
- is energetic, positive and has a good sense of humour Working hours are from 8:45am pm

Essential Qualifications

  • NVQ level 2 or above qualification appropriate to the post (or equivalent).
GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English LanguageDesirable Qualifications

Essential Experience

  • Experience of working with children in an Early Years environment
  • Experience of working/caring with children with an EHCP or SEND
  • Experience of working with children with ASD/ADHD/SALT
  • Supporting children with developing early reading/phonics and maths skills
  • Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
Support the ethos of a Church SchoolDesirable Experience

  • Knowledge of classroom roles and responsibilities
  • First Aid/Paediatric First Aid Certificate
  • Administrative skills
  • Interest in Forest school, loose parts and outdoor learning
