Job title:
Field Service Engineer - Diesel Engines - North East.

Job location:
Newcastle, Leeds, Hull - can be based anywhere in between these locations.


Salary:
£35,875 + expenses / call out etc. (Vehicle included)

Duration:
Permanent.

Hours: 45 hours per week.


Start date:
immediate.


You do not need to go to depot every morning and can go straight to the site which is likely Newcastle, Leeds or Hull.


Client Summary:
Leading manufacturer and front line supplier of powertrain products based in the UK and Ireland. Areas of expertise include Engine Overhaul, final Drive Overhaul and locomotive refurbishment.

Job Purpose:


The key aim of the role is to conduct the required support for our customers and products at both UK sites & customer locations.

The Product Support Engineer is a key role to ensure that Wabtec UK products and services are meeting our customers' expectationsthroughout their life cycle and our services are delivered in a safe, efficient, and consistent manner.

As the Field Service Engineer, you will be required to run maintenance procedures, diagnostic testing, and mechanical duties on Diesel Engines.

Principle Responsibilities & Accountabilities.

  • Update and maintain Diesel Engines per manufacturer specifications and requirements. The scope of this activity includes the initial preparation of work and organisation of workflow.
  • Daytoday liaising with customers and keeping accurate, concise records of work completed.
  • Provide excellent customer service Prioritise safety, innovation for customers, operational excellence, and teamwork.
  • Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering ONC, or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Strong understanding of mechanical maintenance of large vehicles
  • Bus, trucks
  • HGV's etc.
  • Ideally diesel engine experience.
  • Driving licence.

The pay:


Annual salary of £35,875 with additional uplift of 15% if on nights (£41,256) if on-call Sat & Sun with an extra £130.84 plus the call out hours at flat rate (So £130.84 for sat and sun on standby, plus the hours they work if called out.

Call out pay is willbe a minimum of 3hrs if site is attended site and is 'home-depot-home' in under 3 hours.
