SENIOR OFFICE MANAGER/HR ADVISOR

Our client a leading supplier of rail infrastructure including Civil Engineering, Communications, Permanent Way, alongside Civil Engineering & Building projects with the Rail sector.
This is an exceptional opportunity for someone looking to get involved in bringing the HR function back in-house and making the department their own.
Role & Responsibilities
- Day to day general point of contact for management
- Oversee, coordinate and manage all aspects of general office management
- Manage online and paper filing systems
- Develop and implement new administrative systems, such as record management
- Prepare reports for senior management
- Manage social media for the organisation
- To purchase and complete the setup of IT hardware and software for new starters, dealing with communications, telephone, internet etc.
- Ad hoc duties such as travel and hotel bookings
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word
- Manage payroll for the operatives
- Dealing and assisting the Site Management team
- Manage complex employee relations casework including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement, and redundancy.
- Assisting with recruiting staff.
- Carry out new starter inductions.
- Following up on performance concerns & disciplinary actions with staff members.
- Assisting with Employee discipline.
- Pensions, Private Health Care & Benefits Administration.
- Monitoring staff performance & attendance.
- Dealing with PAYE contracts, salaries, redundancy on behalf of Staff.
Competence Requirements
- CIPD qualification desirable or qualified by experience
- HR experience essential
- Good office skills including typing, filing and accurate record keeping
- Possess excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Fluent use of business English, both verbally and in writing
- An energetic, fast learning, 'cando' attitude.
- Attention to detail, initiative and the ability to solve problems
- Good organisational & communication skills
- IT and social media skills
- Administrative and project management skills
- Resourcefulness, creative thinking
- The ability to build and maintain professional relationships
