This vacancy is only open to North Somerset Council employees and agency workers contracted to North Somerset Council.

An exciting opportunity to lead a team that supports our most vulnerable children to participate fully in education has arisen. Due to the retirement of the current post holder, we are offering a fixed term appointment for 4 months as Head of Inclusion within Education Partnerships while the structure is reviewed.**
About the role

Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.
This position is currently based at our Castlewood offices in Clevedon. Please be advised that this office will be closed by 2025. Consultation is currently underway to determine the new location for colleagues based in Castlewood. This will be at Weston-super-Mare or within North Somerset.


About you


You are an experienced education leader with direct experience of working with children and young people with a range of learning and social needs, preferably with a teaching qualification.

You have a comprehensive understanding of Education and equalities legislation which protects the rights of vulnerable groups and a very sound knowledge of the way schools function.

You are a strong and visible leader with excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills, able to work effectively with school leaders, multi-agency children's professionals, families and community groups to secure positive outcomes for children.

You are committed to teamwork and exemplifying the Councils value in all that you do.
