Shifts:
Mornings and Afternoons (rotating weekly)
Hours: 6-2 / 2-10 may vary slightly.
Hours per week: 35 hours per week plus overtime

Duration:
Temporary to permanent.

Client Summary:
A Market Leader in the maintenance, service and repair of Rail Freight Rolling Stock
Position Summary
We are looking for a Pro-Active Team Player to join a small but busy team responsible for the general maintenance of Rail Freight Wagons
Working within the heart of the Client's Site, the role will involve such procedures as spring and brake block changes, general repairs to door latches and pre use maintenance checks, we are therefore looking for someone who has a min of 2-3 years' experienceof hands on tools work experience
Successful applicants will be provided with mentored training to ensure safety and compliance plus in time be offered the opportunity to train for shunting duties and the maintenance of Locomotives which would bring additional skills and earnings opportunities

Person Profile/Experience:
This would suit an experienced heavy vehicle mechanic looking for an opportunity to break in to the Rail Engineering Industry, ex Forces Engineers, Plant Maintenance, Aerospace or Automotive Engineering/Fast Fit Maintenance skills will be suitable for thisrole

You will be physically fit and healthy, have a good sense of humour and be prepared to work outdoors where required.

You will ideally have a full driving license (ideally no more than 6 points) and be flexible enough to travel to other local sites in the regionfrom time to time

Due to the nature of the work/role, an appreciation of H&S at work is essential, plus in line with Rail Industry Protocols there is a zero policy re being under the influence of Drugs & Alcohol whilst at work.

Regular random checks are carried out to ensurecompliance

Qualifications:
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a technical discipline as a minimum
Hands on tools experience of working on motor vehicle related platforms
