We have an exciting opportunity for an Operational Finance Controller to join the team.


About the role


The Operational Financial Controller Leader will manage the team responsible for accounting for the costs and revenue for the EMEA Region, as well as ensuring adequate controls are exercised, particularly in respect of Balance Sheet accounting.

They need to ensure that Group Reporting is done on a timely and accurate manner.

They will be required to ensure that their team works to tight month end deadlines and to ensure that all Half Year and Year end Group requirements are met in full.

You will be the primary contact for all external audit queries for 11 legal entities across EMEA.

Key contact for issues raised by EMEA CFO & team, and the Direct & Indirect responsibility for a team of 18.


This role offers Hybrid working where you can work from home and in our Corby office at least once a week.


What we're looking for

  • Lead the Operational Finance Team with responsibility for all EMEA markets
  • Managing a team of 18, including reviews, resourcing, and individual support
  • Provide training and development opportunities, set, and agree objectives and targets aligned with the business strategy
  • Overall responsibility to manage Balance Sheet risk, ensuring a "no surprise" culture, in respect to year end audits
  • Ensure team are supporting their business partners, providing accurate and timely information to enable the decisionmaking process
  • Adhere to month end deadlines to produce balance sheet analysis and cost information on a timely and accurate basis
  • Ensure adequate controls over banking processes, ensuring ontime payments are made
  • Participate in projects to develop best practise finance processes to standardise across UK, Europe & APAC
  • Liaise with External and Internal Auditors to provide relevant documentation when needed.
  • Provide resource to support other parts of the Business when needed

A bit about you

  • Experience in managing a team is essential
  • Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 2 year PQE
  • Experience of SAP FICO Systems
  • Positive Outlook: looks to the future for opportunity, constantly challenges the status quo and drives for high performance
  • Personable, enthusiastic, team oriented
  • Good communicator who is able to build strong relationships in a matrix structure
