Role Overview:

The Infrastructure Engineering Lead is a senior level position in the SETI team, within Equities Derivatives.

The SETI team is responsible for providing market reference data within Equities, for use in downstream trading and risk systems.


This role will cover several key areas:

Responsibilities:


  • Infrastructure Engineering management including upgrades, migrations, capacity planning, Continuity Of Business etc.
  • Build relationships and engage with wider technology development group and key stakeholders
  • Plan, manage execute and report against key deliverables and milestones
  • Ownership of critical software libraries used by multiple dev and quant teams to interface with strategic datastore.
  • Investigate and resolve build issues swiftly and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Improve and simplify release pipelines, moving existing build processes towards CI/CD model and increasing automation.
  • Use code reviews and static code analysis to improve the quality of code and highlight vulnerabilities early in the software development lifecycle.
  • Take ownership of endtoend delivery of tasks and projects.
  • Coordinate analysis of continuous vulnerability scans across multiple teams, and assist with targeted releases to remove vulnerabilities.
  • Coordinate complex software and infrastructure migration projects.

Essential Criteria:


  • Strong background in infrastructure management of an enterprise platform
  • Strong background in creating and improving CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with the following tools:
  • Build automation tools, specifically TeamCity and Jenkins.
  • Code repository tools such as git or Bitbucket, and software repositories such as Artifactory.
  • Dependency management frameworks such as Maven, Gradle, npm, NuGet.
  • Deployment systems such as UrbanCode Deploy, Harness
  • Unit testing frameworks such as Junit, Mockito, Nunit, Xunit, Moq
  • Static code analysis and vulnerability tools (SonarQube, CheckMarx, BlackDuck)
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements

Desirable Criteria:


  • Experience with financial services, or specifically equities derivatives preferred.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and/or RedHat OpenShift.
  • Experience using Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (bash, Powershell, dos, Python).
  • Experience with analytics and visualization software (ELK, Grafana).
  • Familiarity with SQL databases (programming and architecture).
  • Experience with SSH/SFTP transfer protocols.
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools such as Autosys.
  • Assertive communications skills, commanding personality. Ability to engage a large audience and lead the discussion with clear, articulate, and highly assertive communication.
  • Ability to work with virtual and inperson teams located globally.
