As the business is expanding, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a new production operative to join our team.

Job description

Reporting to the Supervisor, the role of the Production operative is to carry out pre-production checks on all plant and machinery.

Set formulas and operate and maintain the batch manufacturing plant and equipment. Willing to train in all areas of production and all equipment. Safely operate a counterbalance forklift and adhere to all onsite health and safety rules.

You will also be required to maintain the production lines, plan maintenance and attend reactive maintenance tasks.


Key Responsibilities

• Operate batching process equipment
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks
• Ensure efficient running of production line
• Carry out relevant checks for each production run
• Carry out troubleshooting on processing problems
• Support production processes when required
• Ensure quality and efficiency are achieved
• Forklift and yard duties
• Adhere to all site Health and Safety rules

The ideal Process / Maintenance Operator:

• Must have experience in machine operating in a busy factory environment
• Must have proven basic maintenance, mechanical skills
• Clean, neat and tidy approach to work
• Punctual and adaptable
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
• Good polite manner
• Motivated to learn and develop skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Good level of numeracy and literacy
• Forklift licence and experience is essential
• Must be able to to fulfil physical requirements needed to carry out job related tasks.

Standard hours of work: 8am - 5pm Currently working 7am

• 5pm including overtime.

Overtime and weekends as required - paid at time and half. Double time Sundays.

24 Days holiday per year.
