Description

Fabricators/Machinists are responsible for working as part of a production team, operating machinery to cut, wrap and pack GRP products to supply a variety of customers; this role will involve manual handling and quality inspection of product.

This position reports to the Workshop Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities

Select correct material and cut to specification, as per workshop instructions
Inspect product quality before wrapping and packing to specification and completing details on workshop instructions
Assist with loading and unloading carriers with consignments as required
Carry out visual inspection of machinery for safe operation before commencing any machining procedure, damages to be reported immediately to the Workshop Manager
Good levels of housekeeping to be maintained at all times
Follow Quality Management System (ISO9001) at all times
Ensure nonconformities are reported promptly
Complete accurate stocktake counts as necessary
Ensure all appropriate PPE is worn as necessary

Experience and Technical Skills Required
Previous factory/manufacturing experience an advantage
Good standard of education
Able to communicate and take direction
Experience of using hand power tools, including chop saws and table saws, is essential

Job Types:
Full-time, Temp to perm

Salary:
£9.65-£11.00 per hour
