Advantage Resourcing as currently supporting UK leading company within the banking industry, who due to internal progression, are seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to join their growing teams.

The right person will be able to lead the design, build and maintenanceacross a a range of projects with focus on GitLab migration.

Working alongside Agile delivery squads and infrastructure teams, this will best suit someone who is able to collaborate with peers, learn new technologies and have a pragmatic approach.


The Requirements:


  • 4+ years' experience in DevOps Engineer, System Engineer or similar.
  • Cloud platform experience; AWS desirable.
  • GitLab premium or Ultimate.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience.
  • CI/CD systems knowledge; Jenkins.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages including Bash, Python, Ruby and JavaScript etc.
  • Container systems such as Kubernetes/Docker.
  • Installation, administration and maintenance of tools like Bitbucket, Jenkins and more.
  • Knowledge/experience of Salesforce and/or Snowflake platforms (not essential).

The Overview:


  • Up to £90k p.a depending on experience.
  • Fulltime permanent position.
  • Hybrid role: 3 days in office.
  • Wimbledon or London based.
  • Performance bonus.
  • 6% pension contribution.

The Role:


  • Promote and implement best DevOps practice in pursuit of streamlined delivery.
  • Support the migrations to GitLab ultimate.
  • Design and implement secure automation solutions.
  • Ensure Governance is built into the automation pipelines.
  • Development and support of the DevOps toolchain.
  • Development and maintenance of automated solution covering operational administration, system/data backup, disaster recovery, and security/performance monitoring.
  • Mentor future junior DevOps Engineers.
  • Support the coaching, mentoring and career development of team members.
