Recra are working in partnership with a forward-thinking and reputable point of sale company specialising in retail and merchandising solutions and seeking a driven and enthusiastic senior buyer to join their vibrant team.


Senior Buyer

Principal Purpose of Job:


  • To manage and expand the current supply base to include local and international suppliers.
  • Reporting to the Commercial Manager, leading negotiations, assessing supplier capacities, making sourcing recommendations, and ensuring best purchasing practices.
  • You will liaise with other colleagues around the group and facilitate intercompany trading.

Key Responsibilities and aims:


  • Direct & Indirect purchases.
  • Manage and assess the approved supplier list.
  • Introduce new suppliers in line with business strategy.
  • Visit/audit potential suppliers for viability, reporting back findings and actions.
  • Negotiations.
  • Sourcing of special parts.
  • Ensure all suppliers follow strict ethical trading procedures.
  • Negotiate with current suppliers to extend credit payment terms and introduce rebates.
  • Source alternative materials inline with our philosophy of reuse, repurpose, and recycle.
  • Manage and plan long leadtime components (electrics and plastic sheet).
  • A minimum of 4 years of purchasing experience.
  • Process knowledge in injection moulding, metal fabrication, and joinery.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Selfmotivation and selfdiscipline. A strong "cando" attitude.
  • Good work ethic.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Have good attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Have a valid clean driving license.
  • Team worker.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Prior knowledge of "Point of Sale" will be an advantage.
