These posts also attracts a one-off payment equivalent to 10% of annual basic salary.

This would be payable as 50% of the incentive as a lump sum at end of the probationary period (Typically six months) and then the other 50% of the incentive as a lump sum at the end of year two.

This incentive is available to new applicants who do not currently work within NEFLT.

We are looking for experienced practitioners with qualifications in at least one of the following areas:
Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP)

Children Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP)

To join our fast-growing, fast-paced Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) across South East Essex.


MHST's are a new service designed to support children and young people with mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties within education settings.

We are a multidisciplinary team made up of Children and Young People's Mental Health Practitioners and Education Mental Health Practitioners.

Mid & South Essex supports up to 104,000 young people across a variety of different education settings.


They will work in partnership with schools, children, young people, and families in the development of plans for the intervention and agreed outcomes.


They will be proficient in using Routine Outcome Measures (ROMS) and clinical tools to gather feedback and guide clinical practice, with opportunities for service provision planning and mapping with schools to inform the delivery of support to CYP.


The post holder will be supported to work alongside other EMHPs/CWPs in educational settings, as well as working alongside more Senior Mental Health Practitioners (SMHPs) to support learning and development.

There will be opportunities for individual work, group work and consultation.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust.

All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.

As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend several drop-in sessions focussing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.

The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

This post requires the successful applicant to work agilely between NELFT sites and educational settings. For applicant to have the ability to work independently is an important factor. Some travel around the county is also expected. The nominated base for South East Essex MHST is Skyline Plaza in Southend
