The Assistant Disability Advisor will join a friendly and supportive team to triage enquires, carry out initial advice and guidance to students as well as carry out administrative duties related to registration for student support.


About you


You will have some prior knowledge and experience of providing advice and guidance in an educational setting to disabled learners.

You will also be a good team player with excellent customer service skills, highly effective communication skills and have a flexible attitude.


Exciting work you will do


You will work within a team of experienced Disability Advisors alongside the Disability Manager to remove barriers, promotes inclusive practice, and create reasonable adjustments to students' learning programmes and university experience.


The skills and experience you will need to be successful


You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and have some experience of working with students/clients from a diverse background and a range of disabilities.


You will also have good administrative skills and experience of record keeping that can be applied to a busy disability & dyslexia service.


If you are student centred and methodical in record keeping and administrative duties, you will be ensuring students will receive their support in a timely manner.


Details about the role
This is a full-time permanent position.

Hours of Work and Working Pattern:

The basic working week will be 35 hours, worked from Monday to Friday; 9.00am to 5.00pm, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break each day.


Please note that the University is operating a hybrid working model which means a mix of working on site and from home, confirmation of days worked on campus are arranged with the line manager.
