Lancashire Highways Service is responsible for the direct delivery of all highways related schemes across the County made up of 4'300 miles of road, 151'000 streetlights and 2'955 bridges.


We have an excellent opportunity for a Technical Support Officer, this post will be based at Cuerden Depot within the Countywide Capital Team.

What you will be doing

  • Assisting in various officebased functions such as, raising permits and TTRO's for our teams to work on our network within Lancashire.
  • Record keeping using spread sheets and updating schemes on our Project Management System (PPMS) and Internal Highways Asset Management System (HAMS).
  • Assisting with site preparation works (Surface Treatments and Road Markings) for small and large highway schemes.
  • Monitoring stock levels.
  • Carrying out site inspections and audits when required.
  • Assisting in answering customer complaints and compliments.
  • Checking time sheets and updating plant cards for vehicle utilisation.
  • Performing additional winter maintenance duties.
  • Assisting in organising routine seasonal and reactive tasks on site.
  • Ensuring compliance with site plans, contract specifications, and Health and Safety Legislation Completing records on handheld or desk top IT equipment.
