Description

Prudential Regulation Advisor required for the expanding Accounting and Regulatory Policy team of our global Financial Services client.

The team sit within Finance and help the business to achieve its business goals by providing independent advisory and review services in relation to matters of Accounting and Basel-based Regulation for a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

As a result of this focus, Policy plays a key role in client advisory activities and major Firm projects, helping to shape and influence the future strategy of the Firm.

Based in Glasgow, this role will specifically focus on Accounting Policy, providing you with the opportunity to be at the forefront of developments in accounting impacting entities reporting under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), US GAAP and UK GAAP.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

You will play a key role in Global Accounting Policy Management, working with senior stakeholders in the US and EMEA.
You will provide advisory support to global Finance colleagues, supporting the global legal entity controllers and producing the IFRS Model Financial Statements.
You will develop SME knowledge on key areas of accounting, having the opportunity to work alongside crossfunctional teams on major Firm implementation projects, and assist with the resolution of adhoc advisory queries from internal stakeholders.
You will be involved in helping to train internal stakeholders on technical matters, including key accounting updates identified through the team's horizon scanning process.

About you

Qualified Accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) from practice, financial services, or industry
Knowledge and understanding of financial reporting under IFRS, UK GAAP and/or US GAAP and a keen desire to develop SME knowledge in these areas.
Strong communication skills, including ability to communicate technical material to various levels of experience/knowledge both in written and verbal form.
An interest in working in a fastpaced environment, often balancing multiple high priority deliverables.
