Head of Talent Acquisition

Reporting to the Careers & Experience People Director

12 month Fixed Term Contract

The Role


As the Head of Talent Acquisition, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organization by leading the redesign of our talent acquisition processes, while ensuring the seamless execution of day-to-day recruitment operations.

You will be responsible for driving strategies that attract, select, and retain top-tier talent in line with our company's values and business objectives.

This position is a member of the Careers and Experience (C&E) CoE Leadership Team, reporting into the C&E Director.

The C&E CoE designs People strategies for the present and the future, aligns CoE strategic deliverables to People and Company strategies by leveraging insights from diverse sources to bring modern, innovative, and commercially practical ideas to life to enable Hiscox talent to learn, develop, perform and excel.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Redesign of Talent Acquisition Function

  • Work closely with the People Function Transformation team, HR OPs and the TA team to assess the current talent acquisition function and drive strategic improvements. Identify and remove bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the current recruitment lifecycle and reduce timetohire and spend.
  • Evolve the talent acquisition strategy in line with the company's growth objectives and industry best practices.
  • Introduce innovative TA methods, technologies, and tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the talent acquisition endtoend process.
  • Evaluate and implement cuttingedge recruitment technologies and tools to automate manual processes and enhance the overall effectiveness of talent acquisition.
  • Implement training programs for the talent acquisition team to ensure they stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development to enhance the skills and capabilities of the team.
Business-As-Usual Operations

  • Collaborate with hiring managers and department heads to understand their talent needs and provide strategic guidance on workforce planning.
  • Manage a team of recruiters and support staff, fostering a highperformance culture and ensuring the team is aligned with organizational goals.
  • Develop and execute employer branding initiatives to enhance the company's reputation as an employer of choice.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communication teams to refine and strengthen the company's employer brand.
  • Develop strategies to showcase the company culture, values, and employee value proposition to attract top talent.
  • Drive initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the talent acquisition function.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to understand business needs and align talent acquisition strategies with organizational objectives.
  • Foster strong partnerships with hiring managers and department heads to ensure a collaborative and efficient recruitment process.
Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Implement metrics and analytics to measure the effectiveness of talent acquisition strategies.
  • Use data insights to drive continuous improvement, making datadriven decisions to optimize recruitment processes and enhance overall performance.
  • Previous experience of managing and leading a Talent Acquisition function.
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition, with a focus on process improvement and strategic planning.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead a team toward common goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different levels of the organization.
  • Indepth knowledge of current trends and best practices in talent acquisition and recruitment technology.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications are a plus.

  • Reports to Careers and Experience Director
  • Lead by example and drive continuous improvement as a key member of the People Function
