Devonport House is a residential life house accommodating 60 homeless individuals.

We are seeking flexible, enthusiastic, and reliable people to join our bank of relief maintenance, who help support our existing team as and when required and providing cover for holidays and absence.


Whilst we are not able to guarantee any work, as a busy homeless hostel we are generally able to offer shifts out to all our relief workers on a regular basis.


Key Responsibilities:

Carrying out short term reactive repairs and maintenance, internally and externally. Basic Carpentry/Joinery, Manual Handling, Painting and Decorating. To assist plumbers, electricians and other outside contractors and ensure that work is completed to a satisfactory standard. On a day-to-day basis, carry out work as necessary in accordance with health and hygiene regulations. Keeping the appearance of the centre to a high standard. Undertake training as deemed necessary.

Work as part of the staff team within the centre to ensure the overall aims of the agency are achieved.

Conduct building checks and identify any maintenance issues.
