Randstad Education is working with a large secondary school in Bristol to recruit a flexible and resourceful teaching assistant to join their dedicated and friendly learning support team.
This is a learning-centred school, where high-quality teaching and wider opportunities helps students of all abilities to achieve their ambitions.
Job requirements:
- A real passion for working with young people
- Ideally have experience working with young people including art & drama workshops; dance/theatre school; Scouts, Guides, Brownies; sports coaching; youth support work; summer camp
- Able to work with the teacher to create learning resources appropriate to the student that they are supporting
- Confident working with children who have SEMH (social, emotional, mental health) needs
- A good standard of general education, to include literacy and numeracy skills
- Be willing to research and learn about supportive technologies that can be used in the classroom
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to get one)
- The means to get to the school for early starts (typically 8:30am starts)
- Eligibility to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided)
The role:
- You will be working 8am until 3pm, term time only
- Initial training will be provided by the school
- Work with a wide range of teachers to deliver excellent teaching and learning, which enables students to achieve high standards and make appropriate progress
- Coach children on a 1:1 or group basis
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all learners
