Winterhalter & Classeq are seeking an experienced credit controller to join our busy team in Knowlhill, Milton Keynes.

The day-to-day duties of the Credit Controller include managing a ledger of an assigned portfolio of customers, ensuring timely payments are made, resolving account queries and managing debt recovery.

Our Credit Controllers are key to supporting the financial function of a business, which requires the building and maintaining of strong relationships with clients to ensure the smooth running of their accounts.

**Role Dimension & Key Contacts: - Working within a team of credit controllers reporting to the Credit Manager

  • Working closely with colleagues across the business plus internal & external customers
  • Controlling ledgers in excess of £5m
**The Credit Controller has an important role to play in supporting the financial function with responsibility to: - Ensure customers pay to terms

  • Maximize aged debt collection
  • Work closely alongside stakeholders to minimize risk whilst supporting business growth
  • Support the evaluation of customer credit limits
  • Ensure customers pay to terms and chase any overdue invoices
  • Process incoming funds & maintain the reconciliation of accounts
  • Manage account queries to resolution
  • Maintain accurate master data records
  • Work closely with the Credit Manager to improve and implement debt collection processes when there are any overdue invoices or payments, and initiate legal proceedings if necessary.

Essential skills, knowledge, and experience:


  • Proven experience within a busy Credit Control / Sales Ledger function
  • Experience of controlling ledgers in excess of £5m
  • Working knowledge of Credit reference agencies and associated technologies
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)


  • Computer literate

  • Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail
  • The ability to listen to customers and negotiate solutions
**Desirable skills, knowledge, and experience: - Working knowledge of SAP

  • Previous ledger management experience
  • Results orientated
  • Able to manage time and work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Able to manage the demands of numerous tasks
  • High attention to detail
  • Tenacious, persistent, and balanced
  • Patient and with the ability to remain calm
  • Open and enthusiastic approach whilst remaining firm and professional

Hours:


  • Full time: 37.5 hours per week
  • Set hours: Monday to Friday: 08:30 17:00
  • Hybrid Based Role with flexibility to work from home
