The focus of this Finance Administrator role is to assist E-Commerce Finance in all aspects of the day-to-day accounting administration, with key deliverables being the timely coding of Royal Mail invoices/credit notes, transport & intercompany recharges, journals, and Whistl UK Royal Mail purchase orders, in order for Finance to accurately report key results to the E-Commerce directors and Whistl Group management.


The Finance Administrator will provide a key supporting role in ensuring the business is able to achieve financial targets whilst fulfilling any legal and regulatory requirements.


What's involved in this Finance Administrator role?

Provision of accurate and timely financial support

Complete accurate and timely:
- coding and allocation of Royal Mail invoices/credit notes using an excel spreadsheet with general ledger journals.
- coding and allocation of Royal Mail monthly reseller/affiliates credit, using a spreadsheet and general ledger journal.
- transport allocation recharges using an excel spreadsheet and general ledger journal.
- purchase orders for Royal Mail invoices and credit notes for Whistl UK Limited.
- production of the quarterly balance sheet files for the E-Commerce Finance Division.


Analysis / Queries
Support the E-Commerce Finance team as directed to promptly resolve queries.


Provision of fiscal information
Help close the year-end accounts by performing specific year-end accounting tasks as required.


Compliance reporting
Assist with internal audits and external audits as directed by your line manager.


Miscellaneous

  • Involvement in various company projects impacting the area and undertaking other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager.
  • Organise own work to ensure monthly, ad hoc, and project deadlines are met and queries resolved promptly. Reprioritise and reorganise work during the month as issues/queries arise and follow up actions are identified.

Monday - Friday 9am - 5.30pm, 37.5 hours a week. Becoming hybrid,


Essential Skills:


  • IT Literate proficient in the use of MS Office specifically MS Excel intermediate level, Pivot Tables, SUMIF, VLOOKUPs.
  • Selfmotivated, able to turn work around quickly whilst still maintaining excellent levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to plan and prioritise own workload to meet varied and demanding deadlines.
  • Works collaboratively in a small team to deliver a high quality of service to stakeholders.
  • Business focused, able to liaise well with the business and financial teams.
  • Good attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy in figure work.
