Description
This is an exciting opportunity to fulfil an important senior role within the Trust.

Working in partnership with Service Group Leaders and the wider People Services Team our People Business Partner Team enhance workforce performance, fostering and nurturing a learning culture that enables talent and compassionate leadership to thrive, as well as develop people solutions to achieve the Trusts objectives.

Our People Business Partner Team seamlessly links People Services knowledge, support and guidance with operational leaders to ensure colleagues come first to deliver the best care for the people of Somerset.

Through our People Strategy we enable the organisation to create an environment where our people feel valued, engaged, and have a sense of belonging aligned to the People Promise within the Trust.

The People Services team delivers first class, innovative and digital solutions.

This ensures colleagues are developed, truly empowered and can thrive to make decisions locally in a safe, open, honest, and inclusive environment.

As a People Business Partner, you will act as a strategic link between People Services and leadership teams to proactively develop colleague capability, team effectiveness and people performance.

You'll play a pivotal role in developing and facilitating a committed and engaging environment that encourages colleagues to display the discretionary behaviours synonymous with the best possible patient outcomes.

You'll build strong credible relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, understanding their challenges and opportunities for growth, providing leaders with tools to deliver their people accountabilities.

You'll understand operational priorities, be mindful of the wider health and care environment and the people strategy requirements.

This will allow you to identify people actions and opportunities that add value and enable the delivery of the people plan.

This role will be Somerset based and the ability to travel to sites across the county will be essential. You'll be supported to work flexibly but there will be the need for regular on-site presence. Part time working will be considered. A relocation package is available for anyone looking to relocate for this role.

As an organisation, the NHS offers a wide range of benefits including flexible working, pension contributions, market leading annual leave allowance, continuing professional development and regular informal conversations around career progression, annual recognition awards to celebrate and recognise our colleagues achievements throughout the year and not to mention our Blue Light Card and NHS exclusive discounts.

We work hard to make sure that inclusion is part of everything we do.

We know that true inclusion means we're able to provide the best care for our patients and provide a fulfilling career for all our colleagues.

The benefits of working in Somerset include the idyllic countryside, with our areas of outstanding beauty and stunning coastlines. You will get to enjoy these perks whilst still only being a stone's throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London - there is truly something for everyone

There are excellent educational facilities in the area and, when compared to other regions, house prices are reasonable.

We have six active and impactful colleague networks.

These networks provide a safe space for colleagues to share their experiences and learn from one another, but also influence change across our trust:

  • Multicultural Network
  • Women's Network
  • Armed Forces' Network
  • LGBTQ+ Network
  • Lived Experience Network, for colleagues living with disabilities
  • Autistic Colleague Network
