Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic, engaging and versatile person to join DCH Charity.

The Fundraising Support Assistant will be responsible for providing fundraising and administrative support to our Charity team, focussing on data processing and the recording and acknowledgement of all donations and support for the Charity.

This role will be hands on within a small and busy team and has the potential to learn and develop a variety of fundraising skills and in-depth knowledge of fundraising activity and stewardship.


The post holder will be the first point of contact for the Charity, dealing with members of the public, fundraisers, community organisations and DCH staff.

They will be expected to undertake a range of general administrative and fundraising duties including answering queries, collecting and processing donations and recording all donor and fundraiser details on our database as required.


A high level of attention to detail is a key requirement of this role as well as a good telephone manner and excellent customer service and IT skills.

We are a small friendly team working closely with our supporters to ensure they receive the best possible customer care.

The key responsibilities of the Fundraising Support Assistant post would include:

Being the first point of contact in 'supporter care' for the Charity and responding to enquiries from members of the public and DCH staff.


Working with the Individual Giving Manager and Charity team to ensure all donations are acknowledged and donors thanked in a timely manner.


Donor data processing ensuring accurate records are maintained on the Donorfy Charity supporter database (contact details, financial information, gift aid declarations, actions, consents etc).


Processing of all donations and reconciliation of income from different channels (BACs, online donation platforms) in liaison with the DCH Finance Team and Cash Office staff.

Processing donations from credit cards and online giving platforms, ensuring compliance with GDPR.

Collection of cheques, cash and Charity fundraising materials from donors and fundraisers.

Emptying of donation and collection boxes across the DCH site in liaison with DCH Finance team and Cash Office


Working with the IGM to support the transfer of data from previous database, 'S' Drive and Excel documents to the Donorfy database.

Working with the IGM to deliver a cycle of donor consent and gift aid renewal letters.

Working with the Charity team to support fundraising activities including the fundraising programme for the Capital Appeal.

Supporting the Fundraising Officer with preparation and distribution of fundraising materials.


Supporting Charity promotional activities including putting up posters, distributing flyers and other publicity materials around DCH and elsewhere as required.

General database housekeeping (e.g., digitising of documents for donor records, batching donations, de-duplication of records, updates and corrections).


Working at all times in compliance within the Fundraising Regulator's Code of Practice, data protection legislation and agreed DCH Charity policies and procedures.
