About Us
The Birchmere Group are a long-established Poole-based commercial and residential property developers and investors.

Two companies within the Group have been involved in property in the Poole/Bournemouth conurbation for many years; Stansmore (Builders) Limited, founded in 1936, and John H Wilson & Son Limited which was incorporated in 1947 and who were once one of the largest building contractors in Dorset.

Birchmere is very much a local company with all its property holdings situated in Dorset.

Industrial units form the main core of the business although the portfolio also includes offices, shops and residential dwellings for rent.

The company also has a significant land bank.

We are now looking for a commercially-minded, motivated, skilled multi-trade operative to work with our existing maintenance and refurbishment team.

About The Role

The role will be a blend between supervising small to medium refurbishment projects as and when required and general building maintenance duties around the company's extensive property portfolio.

Supervisor Overview:

• Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery and personnel
• Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to operatives and contractors
• Assist in the recruiting, hiring, training, managing and mentoring of employees and contractors
• Managing onsite the resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices and safety needs
• Emphasizing safe use of tools, machinery and equipment while on site
• Assist in managing project budgets and quality standards for all sites and projects
• Resolving onsite conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably
• Regular reporting of project status to line managers
• Ensure accurate weekly completion of time sheets, site files & reports
• Comply fully with all company Health & Safety requirements
• Customerservice skills to be able to communicate with tenants and to develop a positive working relationship

Multi-Trader Overview:

• General carpentry and building work
• Installation of replacement windows and doors
• Glazing
• Painting and decorating
• Small groundworks
• Basic plumbing works and repairs
• Patch repair plastering
• Basic tiling
• Other general duties necessary to maintain the company's residential and commercial property portfolio

Key Attributes and Qualifications

Key Attributes

• Previous experience of working as a Multi Trader/Site Supervisor preferably in both the residential and commercial/industrial sectors
• Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation
• The ability to use one's initiative to work independently or as part of a team
• Ability to multitask
• Full, preferably clean, driving licence.

Qualifications

• Tradebased qualification
• Valid SSSTS card
• Valid First Aid Certificate an advantage

• IPAF

• PASMA Certificates an advantage

Schedule

• Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 5.00pm
• Fridays 8.00am to 3.30pm

Work Location

• Starting each day from our head office in Poole the majority of our sites/locations are within a 30 minute drive
