EHV Estimator


Our client, an independent connections provider of High and Low Voltage electrical services nationwide, are currently looking for an
EHV Estimator to join their
Swindon based team.


Employing solely high skilled and qualified engineers with sound technical understanding of electrical engineering, our client offers turnkey solutions for any electrical challenge up to 132kV.

You can rely on them to ensure your electrical network is operating efficiently and to the highest levels of safety.


Being an Independent Connect Provider (ICP) through the National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) allows them to provide an 'end to end' service, including connection to the DNO's network.


About the role


Due to client increase in business, my client a-re on the look out for a
EHV Estimator to come and join our growing Estimations team.

In this role you will tender new business across the UK with a key focus on building long-term relationships with new and existing customers whilst overseeing the quotation and tendering process through to design.

Key responsibilities will include:


  • Preparation of tenders up to 11kV voltage.
  • Providing quotations and tenders new connection works and turnkey projects utilising client inhouse teams and supply chain.
  • Key account management for new and existing customers including, top level review with the clients, managing the flow of enquiries.
  • Talking to manufacturers to develop partnerships for a turnkey solutions.
  • Following up quotations and bringing feedback to the tendering and sales team for unsuccessful quotations.
  • Attend site surveys, or tender interviews as necessary.
  • Establishing key aspects associated with client requirements, providing quotations, liaising with internal departments and submitting final overview of project ability to the client.
  • Evaluate supplier and subcontract returns to ensure compliance with the tender specification/documentation.
  • Accurately undertake any necessary takeoffs of drawings and schedules and perform data entry into the estimating software selected by the business. Follow all company procedures for enquiry and tender handling.
  • Draft commentary regarding exclusions and clarifications associated with the return offer.
  • Working with SimPro and other business systems to follow company processes and maintain data integrity.
  • Assist in creation / management or processes for the estimation team.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is proficient in the use of productivity and collaboration Software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint etc. across multiple platforms such as smart phones, tablets, laptops etc.
  • Has excellent communication, including ability to adapt communication styles and outstanding listening skills with ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to use own initiative as well as work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Has excellent attention to detail i.e. the ability to produce high quality proposals with mínimal supervision.
  • Has the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Has a desire to mentor, train and manage new team members as the business grows.

Our commitment

  • The role is based out of our Head Office in Swindon with flexible working options available we will work with you to get the balance right
  • Permanent, full time position working 40 hours a week.
  • We will be offering a basic annual salary between £35,000 to £47,000, depending on experience.
