About the role
We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join the school support team.
The role commences immediately and is until the end of the academic year.
The role in 4 or 5 days per week: Monday-Thursday 8.00am-3.15pm.
The role is to support the delivery of teaching, learning and care to students in a proactive manner that enables them to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with teachers and the SENCo, to ensure that the support needs of students are met.
- Providing support for individuals or small groups of students in class or out of the classroom environment.
- Develop an understanding of and provide for students 'specific personal needs to ensure a safe learning environment.
- Promote the general success, progress and achievement of students and report any concerns to the SENCo or relevant teacher.
- Develop a range of strategies to engage individuals.
- Promote and reinforce students' selfesteem, appropriate learning behaviour and levels of effort.
- Modify resources to support students with their learning and development and assist generally with classroom and student management.
- Contribute to the maintenance of student records for attendance, behaviour and reviews of student progress.
- Work with individuals on agreed tasks.
- Start immediately
- Hours are typically 08.00am until 3.15pm
- Term time only
- The school is based in Stockport
- An appropriate professional qualification at Level 2 NVQ, or equivalent qualifications.
- The ability to effectively support students with a range of needs.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to motivate students.
- Supportive, positive and nonjudgemental attitude.
- Good administrative and record keeping skills.
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Temporary contract
Salary:
£75.00-£85.00 per day
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
Experience:
- classroom support: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- enhanced DBS on the update service (preferred)
