Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Adult Continence service admin team to support our Clinical Nurse specialists.


The post holder will play an important role within the wider Admin Team to provide efficient and comprehensive administrative support to clinicians and managers.

You will work within an Admin Team to support admin and clinical services and duties including; telephone queries, referring patients into the service, booking appointments, use of Microsoft office and other IT systems.

We are looking for a compassionate approach to supporting patient care and service delivery. You must be able to build effective working relationships, be approachable and accessible with a flexible approach to work.

You will have good organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


We have a full electronic patient record system which is central to our work, so accurate record keeping is critical, and high concentration levels are required.


To contribute to an efficient and effective administration for the county wide Continence Advisory Service for Derbyshire Community Health Services.

To answer the telephone, direct calls accordingly and take messages.

To listen to voice mail messages & respond accordingly.

To refer patients into the service & book appointments via TPP SystmOne.

To collect, sort and distribute mail.

Printing and photocopying of leaflets, forms and literature.

Printing & sending out appointment request and confirmation letters from tasks via SystmOne.

Attendance at team meetings.

To have a flexible view to working.


To support and comply with all health and safety, fire, infection control policy / procedures / legislation in conjunction with the appropriate department / advisors.


To provide high quality support in the daily running of the Adult Continence Service as an individual and team player.


To undertake a range of clerical and administrative duties required to maintain the smooth running of the service and enable the team to achieve their objectives and meet required deadlines.


Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.


We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people's own homes and via virtual consultations.


During the pandemic response, we have led the implementation of public vaccination centres in collaboration with partners across health and social care.
