    Transform Your Maritime Career as a Health & Safety Advisor

    We are seeking an exceptional individual to fill the role of Health & Safety Advisor (HSEQ Officer) at Shirley Parsons. As a vital link between vessel crews and our dedicated HSEQ team, you will be responsible for fostering a strong safety culture across our maritime services.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Promote a proactive approach to health and safety through regular site visits and engagement with crew members, gathering insights into operational challenges and opportunities.
    • Support the development and implementation of our company-wide HSEQ plan in line with strategic objectives, ensuring seamless integration with corporate goals.
    • Conduct thorough internal ISM audits and coordinate external SMC inspections, verifying compliance and identifying areas for improvement.
    • Investigate low-level incidents, collaborating with stakeholders to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
    • Analyse HSEQ data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Provide after-hours Designated Person Ashore cover on a rotational basis, ensuring round-the-clock support for vessels and shore-based teams.
    • Respond promptly to queries from vessels and onshore management regarding HSEQ-related matters.

    Your Qualifications:

    • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a maritime or high-risk industry environment, preferably with STCW certification.
    • Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies, hazard identification, and ISM code requirements.
    • Proven track record of conducting audits and training sessions, with a talent for challenging non-compliance constructively.
    • Knowledge of ISO 9001/14001 and basic safety legislation relevant to the maritime sector.
