An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen to join the Southwark Enhanced Intervention Service (EIS) as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will work in the Southwark Enhanced Intervention Service (EIS).

This is a specialist intensive support team which is attached to the community-based Mental Health Learning Disabilities (MHLD) team, in Southwark.

You will be part of the small multidisciplinary team and the Trust Psychology & Psychotherapy Staff team.


You will work directly with adults, their families and staff teams, carrying out collaborative assessments and interventions, aimed at reducing behaviours that challenge and improving quality of life.

You will have opportunities to work indirectly with peoples' support networks to help enhance skills and knowledge, and be expected to help deliver training and consultation to local support providers.

You will have a focus on preventing hospital admission and placement breakdown.

Behaviour Support Practitioners are valued members of the EIS and MHLD services, and are part of our core provision.

You will have opportunities to develop your skills through regular individual and peer supervision, and be able to make use and contribute to wider Trust training events.

You will be able to work closely with other members of the MDT.

  • To provide applied behavioural assessment and intervention for clients who present behaviour that challenges services and poses risks to their wellbeing, including specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes.
  • To employ the principles of Positive Behavioural Support in all aspects of clinical work.
