We are recruiting for a Fleet Operations Officer to join our Ship Management client, based in Central London.

The Fleet Operations Officer will handle and provide support for managing the operations, including insurance matters, of assigned vessels.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT- Previous experience within a ship management operations department. University graduate/higher diploma/equivalent related qualifications. Background in Shipping studies or relevant experience/knowledge. Fluent in spoken and written English. Good MS office skills. Strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills.
JOB DESCRIPTION- Routine communications with vessels including sending of Cautionary Notices, Cargo Guidance, Navigation guidance, etc. Voyage Monitoring - Monitor and report (as required) vessel movements, especially those entering war risk areas and send out notifications to Owner's / War risk underwriters Agency Appointment - Appointment, approval of disbursement, and arranging payment.
P&I Claims Handling - Notification, compiling, checking documents/invoices, and follow-up with various parties as required. Issuing invoices for recovery of expenses on Charterer's account Maintain Records for Time Loss, SDR, Claims, Certificates, Insurance, Voyage Information, etc Plan annual SSAS tests with UK and IOM flag vessels and carry out agency appointments as required. Promote and comply with the Company's "Safety and Environmental Policy" and any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Management of the Company.
