Description
Big Issue is looking for a Campaign Executive to join their growing Public Affairs' team.

As a Campaign Executive, you will assist the launch, development and embedding of Big Issue's campaigns, to embed prevention policies within the realms of housing, pay, jobs and the interests of future generations, at the heart of UK policymaking on behalf of The Big Issue Group.


You will develop The Big Issue's campaigns by:

  • Delivering and implementing campaign plans;
  • Reporting against KPIs;
  • Understanding what tactics have worked, how to optimise and further execute campaign plans, based on performance;
  • Undertaking desktop research to help support our campaigns;
  • Developing online tactics and building and maintaining The Big Issue's ecampaigning list;
  • Delivering digital campaign tactics;
  • Developing and delivering supporter journeys for campaign audiences to further advance the parliamentary strategy;
  • Establishing our campaigns as respected crossparty and crosssector.

In addition, you:
- will have some understanding of running digital campaigns, experience working with e-campaigning software, developing digital campaign tactics and delivering communications to engage the public in online campaign actions;
- will have a good understanding of social media, how to use and optimise different platforms for campaign execution;
- will have a good understanding of campaign metrics and data;
- are able to work on key reporting tools and software;
- will have some experience of being involved in partnerships;
- will have good spoken and written communication skills;
- are a self-starter with staying power who is excited to assist with The Big Issue's campaigns;
- are organised and prepared to assist with the range of tasks involved in growing The Big Issue's campaigns;
- are good at delivering to deadlines but can adapt your schedule to meet changing demands and priorities;
- believe in and support The Big Issue's social objectives.

Some understanding of parliamentary strategy would be a definite advantage.


Salary and Benefits offered

  • The salary of £35,000
  • Incremental holiday entitlement starting at 25 days per year plus bank holidays (prorata for part time staff) plus paid leave to care for a sick child or grandchild and a sick or elderly relation

Workplace details
This role will be based at our Big Issue office in London (Finsbury Park) with some remote working.

The role is currently for a 6 month fixed-contract but could be extended depending on funding.
