About the Department:


The Registry is responsible for the central elements of student administration for the School, with specialist teams including Assessment and Progression, Curriculum and Quality Assurance, Fees and Funding, Student Records, Online Distance Learning, the Doctoral School and Visa Compliance.


It sits within the Student and Academic Services Directorate alongside Academic Services, Access, Participation, and Student Success, Careers, Student Advice and Wellbeing, and Student Experience, Engagement and Retention.


The role will sit within the Curriculum and Quality Assurance Team which is responsible for managing the assurance of academic standards, the curriculum record and associated policies and processes.


About the Role


This is a key role in the Curriculum and Quality Assurance team and will play a big part in the overall management and enhancement of the School's curriculum offer.

The role holder will directly manage the Curriculum Officer(s). They will also work closely with the Associate Academic Registrar, other Curriculum Lead Officer, and other Registry teams.


The Curriculum Lead Officer will have a sound understanding of the management of the curriculum record and will continue to develop their understanding to ensure the provision of a high quality service.

They will have a comprehensive understanding of School policies and procedures and the broader Higher Education sector.


They will conduct analysis and identify practical options to resolve issues and problems and to put forward or operationalise recommendations on more complex situations.

They will liaise with external agencies and other departments of SOAS to ensure the prompt and accurate operation of processes around student assessment, progression and award
