The City of York Council's corporate Business Support Service is offering an exciting opportunity to join the team.

The posts will primarily support teams within children's social care as part of the business support hub.

Key skills required for the role:

  • Effective telephone skills as this role will be the initial point of contact for callers to the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub telephone line.
  • Ability to arrange and minute meetings.
  • Effective, tactful and diplomatic interpersonal skills.
  • High degree of computer literacy and experience working with information technology.
  • Ability to work effectively and flexibly as part of a team and using their own initiative
- to respond to changing priorities and conflicting demands.

  • Strong organisational skills, including good time and task management.
  • Ability to work within a multiagency environment.
  • Ability to adapt working practices, suggest service improvements and be responsive to change.
  • Ability to interrogate the case management database to obtain required information.

The duties of this post require the postholder to undertake a basic Criminal Record check (unspent convictions only) via the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role.

Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process.

Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
