Accounts Assistant - Finance Assistant - Central Bournemouth Town Centre £25,000-£27,000 + study support, healthcare and bonus


Vardey Recruitment are partnering exclusively with an entrepreneurial growing technology-based business in Central Bournemouth, Dorset who is recruiting for an Accounts Assistant/Finance Assistant.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, working in a close-knitteam, this is a varied and busy accounts job is for an Accounts Assistant who is looking to work for a small yet growing company with long-term opportunities.

The Accounts Assistant will join at an exciting time and contribute to its growth and future

The Finance Job

  • Supporting the Finance Manager with the month end process
  • Taking ownership of the sales and purchase ledger
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with payroll preparation & P11d returns
  • Prepare (assist with) the VAT returns, process expenses, bank reconciliations
  • Monitor the cashflow and support the forecasting process
  • Support the credit control processes
  • Assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts


  • Book-Keeping

  • Xero Accounting
  • Assisting in Year end budgets and forecasts for next year
  • General office administration/cover for operations and marketing when required
  • Working with the CEO and Finance Manager looking into business growth ideas and strategic planning.
  • Business planning support
  • An Accounts Assistant/Finance Assistant keen to continue with their career
  • An Accounts Assistant with strong business acumen.
  • An active accountancy studier AAT or early stages of ACCA/CIMA
  • An Accounts Assistant with a interest putting ideas to the table
  • Finance Assistant who is eager to support the growing business with ideas and (assisting with marketing and identifying opportunities) would be a clear advantage
  • Strong Excel and IT skills ideally with experience of an accountancy system
  • A team player, flexible individual
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A creative flair with the ability to think outside the box
