Description
Provide a comprehensive Commercial insurance service to existing and potential customers. Develop an initial and ongoing knowledge and understanding of customer requirements, and ensure these are met at all times.

Offer advice and guidance on risk management issues.

Handle Personal insurance requirements of connected Commercial clients


Handle general Personal insurances as may be required from time to time to ensure the effective running of both the Personal and Commercial elements of the overall business.


Develop and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with Underwriters, so that the business is always able to meet customers insurance requirements at favourable terms.


Responsibilities:


  • With training and support, manage own client bank and areas of responsibility, so that a positive contribution is made to achieving company sales targets.
  • To maintain appropriate, regular contact with existing customers, to ensure their insurance requirements continue to be met.
  • Negotiate with underwriters in placing, amending or renewing clients insurances.
  • Ensure all documentation associated with placing, amending or renewing clients insurance's is completed to appropriate timescales and is accurate.
  • Assist customers in initial reporting and subsequent negotiation with insurers of a satisfactory settlement of claims, as required.
  • Assist, when required, with the accounts function of the business in carrying out credit control with relevant customers.
  • Provide risk advice, management and prevention information in conjunction with underwriters as appropriate.
  • Any general duties that may be required by the Directors in accordance with the nature of this job.

The job requires a thorough knowledge of:

  • Relevant regulatory codes.
  • The principles, practices and legalities of all major classes of General Insurance.
  • Underwriting and rating factors, and how these are applied in relation to all major classes of Commercial insurance.
  • The UK General Insurance market for Personal and Commercial insurance's.
  • Industrial processes, construction methods and factors, security measures, Health & Safety legislation and risk management.
  • The Companies IT systems and procedures.
  • The companies complaints procedure.
Full training and mentoring will be provided by the company to help you acquire the required knowledge.


The job requires knowledge of:


  • The Data Protection Act.
  • Requirements of money laundering legislation.
  • The Law of Agency
  • The general functions of all other areas of the Company and how these relate to this role.
Environment


CoThe job has an office base, but also exceptionally may involve very occasional travelling to customers and Insurers premises, which in some cases may be completed outside of normal office hours.


Salary:
£20,000.00-£37,500.00 per year
