Description

The Procurement and Supplies Directorate is seeking two Materials Management Supervisors based at The Royal Victoria Infirmary and the Freeman Hospital.

The post holders will be responsible for the management of the materials management replenishment service across the hospital sites ensuring a safe, comprehensive, high quality service is provided whilst managing a busy and demanding workload.


  • Interview Date 18/04/202 37 Hours 30 Minutes/Week


To manage a team of Inventory Management Officers, responsible for ordering, receipt, distribution and storage of medical consumables within clinical departments.

Ensure that targets are met by the teams in respect of all inventory activities.

Ensure that goods ordered are progressed and delivered to the requisitioning department in a timely manner.

Ensure effective communication between requisitioning departments and the team.


Ensure a safe, value for money, comprehensive high quality service is provided, whilst managing a busy and demanding work load.

Provide advice to clinical staff in regards to stock control and stock availability.

Represent their team at internal and external meetings.

Manage a team who will provide a Materials Management replenishment service, using NHS Supply Chain inventory management system.
