Who are we looking for?
We have a new opportunity within our Marketing team at CEG Digital We are currently looking for a new
Social Media & Engagement Specialist to join an enthusiastic and fast-paced environment


The role is on a
full-time, permanent basis with the location either in our Cambridge or Newcastle Office, United Kingdom.

We are operating under a Hybrid Working policy (3 days work from home and 2 days in the office).

The Social Media & Engagement Specialist will manage the creation and execution of social media plans.

The main aim will be to increase awareness of each of the University's brands we partner with and importantly, increase audience engagement across a range of social platforms and outlets.

The role will also report on the effectiveness of activities undertaken.

  • Additionally, the role will support the Head of CRM & Marketing Nurture in wider PR initiatives, engagements, and interactions for both our partners and CEG Digital itself.
  • You will be a creative multitasker who is comfortable in contributing to online and in person conversations and will always be looking for opportunities. You'll need to be happy to interact with the wider internal teams as well as key academics and professional staff at universities we work with. You will also need to be able to use both social listening and analytics tools.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement a monthly social media plan for each University brand to ensure a consistent and timely flow of content that aligns with business goals and objectives.
  • Create, curate, and publish highquality content on a variety of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Work alongside the creative team to create strong content for use on social channels.
  • Collaborate with cross
- functional teams to develop campaigns that support key launches, events, and other marketing initiatives.

  • Liaise with our University Partner Events teams professional services, academics, and social media teams to gain buy in to our social media initiatives.
  • Copywriting captions across social media channels, optimising for each channel.
  • Monitor and respond to community comments and direct messages usings the correct tone of voice.
  • Form and nurture relationships built between CEG Digital and partner social media teams.
  • Drive traffic to the microsites and research engaging ways to communicate with our audience.
  • Use social listening tools in order to identify and build detailed understanding of our audiences and opportunities for wider engagement.

Key experience and skills that we will look for:

  • Experience of planning and managing social media campaigns
  • Expertise in managing multiple social media platforms.
  • Knowledge and experience of traditional and digital marketing channels
  • Expertise with social listening and community management tools
  • Experience of effective digital copywriting
  • Ability to deliver creative content ideas.
  • Proven multitasker, executor, and analyst.
  • Ability to negotiate efficiently and effectively and manage people's expectations in high pressure environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to convey messages and tell stories that make connections with audiences.
  • Ability to work efficiently with multiple stakeholders both as a team and under own initiative.
  • Ability to digest and understand new information efficiently.
