Vivienne Westwood is looking for a Studio Coordinator to join our Studio and Couture Team in the Head Office in Battersea.


The Studio coordinator manages the sampling the process from initial seasonal development to the final Samples of the Collection, including the Andreas Kronthaler Selling Collection and Showpieces, working closely with the whole AK Team (pattern cutter, machinists, product developer, design Team), ensuring the studio is running efficiently.


COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT:


  • Coordinating the sample production in house for AK and VW, in house productions, AK MTO and Client/VIP order
  • Liaising with Design Team, ensuring close communication for a smooth progress of the AK collection.
  • Keeping an overview of all House sample developments
  • Liaising with pattern cutters and sample machinists; ensuring the feasibility of the collection
  • Monitoring the development and changes of the AK collection during the season
  • Following the seasonal AK calendar, overseen by Product Developer
  • Planning the season for the technical department, including delegation of work between pattern cutter, machinists, cutter, (interns), booking freelance support
  • Organizing the realization of showpieces/styles for shoots special collaborations during show time

PRODUCTION:


  • Monitoring the transmission of the sample collection to production companies (together with Product developer), organising Sample and pattern shipment to production companies and
  • Ensuring with pattern cutter the appropriate completion of pattern and Samples

STUDIO ORGANISATION:


  • Organising fittings, booking fitting models
  • Assisting pattern cutter with pattern organization, ensuring the archiving of seasonal
- pattern

  • Overseeing Sampling, buying and stocking of studio supplies, such as fabrics and
- trimmings

  • Researching suppliers (fabrics, trimmings, etc)
  • Managing purchase/ maintenance/repair of machines (sewing machines, buttonhole machines, irons, Lectra system etc.)
  • Setting up accounts, reviewing/signing invoices in cooperation with Purchase Ledger
  • Manager

ORGANISATION:


  • Supervision of studio placements: hiring and training the studio interns (managing the
- introducing Interns into studio work, giving technical advices such as pattern cutting and
- cutting etc.)

  • Monitoring studio staff attendance, approving absence requests/ Holiday planning, sick days
  • Managing relationships with agencies (24Seven etc.) and booking freelance support
  • Troubleshooting throughout sampling process, ensuring issues that arise are dealt with
- promptly and with a positive conclusion including communication issues, decision making,
- technical issues with the garments etc.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:


  • Experience in fashion studio coordination
  • Understanding of garment construction
  • Proficient in Microsoft
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to plan, multitask and work under pressure
  • Strong organisational skills
