Role overview
Trigon Recruitment are exclusively recruiting for a well reputed Training Provider with a strong presence in the West Midlands. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maths Tutor to deliver to young people on the Study Programme. This is a scheme designedto develop the employability and functional skills of the participants. Based in Wednesbury working a Monday to Friday working week.

Please note that this is an office based role with face to face delivery - no remote working is available.

You will be experiencedin delivering GCSE Maths as well as Functional Skills Maths though the majority will be Functional Skills.

Job Outline & Purpose

To deliver a good quality of education to groups of students
To deliver maths qualifications
Functional Skills and GCSE, in line with awarding body requirements
To mark, assess and provide constructive feedback on students' work
Contribute towards ensuring excellent student attendance & retention
To provide excellent CEIAG and support (including SEND) to students
To safeguard the welfare of all students, preventing radicalisation and promoting British Values

Training

To plan training to meet criteria and standards for maths qualifications (Functional Skills & GCSE), as well as the students' individual needs
To deliver engaging, effective and innovative group training sessions, so that students develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs)
To engage external speakers (employers, business people, progression and support agencies) in order to enhance the learning experience
To ensure that students work skills are developed and that they are ready for working life, or further learning, by the time they leave Juniper
To provide cover, where necessary, for other tutors

Assessment

To carry out initial assessment activities to identify individual needs, and develop Support Plans, to ensure that students are wellsupported and achieve their learning goals
To mark and assess students' work, providing constructive feedback to develop their maths skills including, spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPaG)
To conduct and document meaningful student reviews, as per procedures, so that students understand the progress they are making and how they can develop their KSBs further
Assess student readiness for Functional Skills and GCSE exams, through ongoing formative assessment and mock exams
Invigilate exams, as appropriate

Level 2 English and Maths (minimum)

Level 3 in Maths

Level 3 Teaching qualification (or willing to work towards within 6 months)

Subject specialism - Maths

Level 4/5 Teaching qualification
