Receptionist

Hours 14 hours per week rota based


Duties:

You will be at the forefront of customer services dealing with the public at reception desk and by telephone.

You will be operating a computerised booking/ cash system, selling shop/ issuing receipts and maintenance of information databases, directing museum visitors and other users.

This role will include a full range of receptionist duties including dealing with the public in person. Processing incoming and outgoing mail. Operating a switchboard ensuring calls are correctly diverted and messages received properly.

Operation of a computerised booking/ cash system including recording monitoring and reporting to management of all relevant information in relation to bookings and visitor numbers/usage.

Reconciliation of cash processing lodgements. Handling and selling of gift shop stock control and merchandising. Provision of clerical and administrative support to include word processing, filing and maintenance of contractor log book.

Ensure all Health & Safety legislation are complied with.

General clerical duties to support the role


Qualifications:

5 GCSEs passes at grades A-C NVQ Level 2 in Administration or equivalent.

Experience

A minimum of one years' experience in a customer services role or receptionist post.


Where applicants do not hold the qualifications they must be able to evidence 3 years experience in a customer service role or as a Receptionist.

A working knowledge of computer packages to include database experience

Experience of a computerised booking/ cash system would be desirable


Skills:


  • Administrative skills to handle various office tasks efficiently
  • Proficient in data entry and maintaining accurate records
  • Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software is a plus
  • Typing speed and accuracy for efficient document creation
  • Computer skills to operate office equipment and use computerized systems
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
  • Familiarity with office software such as Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • General clerical skills to assist with various office duties
