Hours: 37.5 hours per week,52 weeks per year

Salary:
Up to £25,706 per annum (Subject to experience)

IN SHORT**Milton Keynes College has a new vacancy for a Learner Engagement Specialist to join the education team based at HMP Woodhill.


The Learner Engagement Specialist will take on the role of an ambassador for the department; promoting the College to attract as many students as possible to learning programmes and assisting them in achieving their educational objectives while at HMP Woodhill.

Serving as a point of contact for Open University students, both current and prospective; you will be in charge of flexible communication with students and supporting their path towards obtaining higher education credentials.

You will provide administrative and learner support to the Education Manager and team while offering pastoral care and support through (re) engagement with education, advice, and direction for learners which will include responsibility for administrative procedures, data entry, and maintenance connected to the learning experience.


As a successful Learner Engagement Specialist, you will have excellent IT skills and be able to provide appropriate guidance to learners when selecting courses and support the education allocation process by delivering a range of ICT/paper based initial assessment and screening assessments.

You will also be confident in promoting the benefits of education and be actively involved in all aspects of student recruitment and programme marketing, working in partnership with HMPPS and other agencies to develop and deliver support services for our learners.


The role is exciting and varied with an opportunity to help others transform their lives through learning and help to raise expectations and aspirations of students who reside at HMP Woodhill.

HMP Woodhill is part of the Long Term High Security Estate (LTHSE), generally housing Category A and B prisoners. The department runs 8 sessions per week, alongside outreach provision for learners that can't come to the classes.

Current courses on offer include English, maths, art, catering, music technology, personal and social development, painting and decorating and construction multi-skills.

Working hours are Monday to Thursday at on a Friday.
