    Job Description

    We are seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to join our team at {company}. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and transition into production of new or modified products and processes in accordance with company procedures.

    The role involves understanding technical design issues related to both RF and EO countermeasures and their integration into defence systems. Key responsibilities include:

    • Acting as a Mechatronics Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the work of the RD&D department.
    • Preparing proposals for product development, including project plans, resource scheduling, and costing.
    • Liaising with suppliers and leading development programmes with suppliers.
    • Acting as an interface between CCM and electronic component suppliers.
    • Supporting CCM instrumentation with the design development and testing of electronic test equipment.
    • Performing development activities to agreed timescales and costs.
    • Leading and/or supporting FMEA activity.
    • Recommending enhancements to the efficacy of established countermeasure products/systems.
    • Sourcing materials and components for prototype manufacture.
    • Collating data and technically reporting design and development activities.
    • Maintaining technical documentation and reports.
    • Ensuring the effective transition of development items into volume manufacture.

    About You

    To be successful as a Mechatronics Engineer, you will have a healthy mix of the following:

    • A degree or L6 equivalent in Mechatronics Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering.
    • Experience as a senior-level Mechatronics Engineer or Electromechanical Engineer.
    • Experience in the design of mechatronic products.
    • Electronic design 3D CAD experience at a good level.
    • Experience in project management.
    • Experience in new product development (NPD).
    • Knowledge of collating and writing risk assessments.
    • Practical engineering skills and good workshop practice.
    • British citizenship and eligibility for SC clearance.
