Our dedicated health sections are a trusted, authoritative voice - offering the very latest health news, insight and expert advice, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Health Reporter to join our team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with around two years of reporting experience, and a special interest in health and medical issues.
Main Responsibilities Include:
- Pitching story ideas to the Health Editors weekly, with a view to producing at least one or two stories every week
- Taking ownership of the Health section's weekly news page which reports on treatment innovations as well as issues and controversies in healthcare affecting our healthconscious readership
- Keeping an eye out for bigger stories major investigations, special reports, big topics, and potential splashes
- Writing tight, clean copy to weekly deadlines in simple language, accessible to the general reader
- Working with stringers and freelancers on medical news stories and making connections with experts in a wide variety of health fields, from public health, and Government policy, to research science, drug development, surgery, medicine, nutrition and beyond
