Secret Cinema is seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial and results-orientedHead of IP Acquisition and Business Affairs to join our growing team. In this role you will be Secret Cinema's primary liaison with our rightsholder partners - including all of the major film studios - and be responsible for securing and negotiating the commercial terms on which we create our amazing shows and experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- As a senior member of the company and part of the leadership team, you will work at a strategic level helping to shape and implement Secret Cinema's corporate goals
- You will represent Secret Cinema's interests at all executive levels within our rightsholder partners and be our lead rights negotiator
- You will secure all necessary rights required for Secret Cinema's productions
- You will negotiate and close deals with our partners in a timely manner to ensure the smooth running of our show development and production processes
- You will work closely with our finance and business planning teams in budgeting all aspects of royalty and participation payments
- You will work with our internal production and creative teams to ensure both Secret Cinema and partner studios are aligned in our commercial interests
- You will ensure adherence to any and all approval processes put in place by our rightsholder partners
- You will have a strong understanding of London Based Entertainment, Grand, Live and Music rights and be able to advise our internal teams on the rights landscape and the specific requirements needed to create our shows.
Key Experience:
- You will already be working in commercial rights negotiations either on the sell or buy side and have a thorough understanding of the rights required to create immersive and location based entertainment
- You will have a proven track record of rights negotiation and deal structuring and a detailed understanding of how to structure agreements for both domestic and international exploitation
- You may be working in a commercial or legal role currently for a media, theatre or entertainment business or be working in a law firm and seeking to move inhouse and take a more commercial role
- You will already have excellent contacts in the media and entertainment industry
