Finance Manager - Reporting | Derby (Hybrid) | £55,000 - £62,000


Macildowie Finance is currently working on a position offering the opportunity to work for a
leading, FTSE 100 business, based in Derby.


This role is hybrid and will be a rough 3/2 split office/home working (although flex is required a peak business times)


Recruiting for a
Finance Manager - Reporting, this
job will report to Senior Finance Manager and forms part of a small team of 5.

The job is being recruited because the current post-holder has been promoted internally.


Although this role is really varied, there is a significant amount of business partnering involved, with a variety of internal stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities


This role will allow you to gain excellent insight into the breadth of the business, the key issues facing the business and exposure to senior management and external partners.


  • Managing completion of Reporting Team actuals and forecasting processes, reporting results to senior management and senior leadership.
  • Programme managing delivery of ontime, high quality reporting, and supporting process improvement.
  • Lead value adding financial projects. These projects will vary in size from major change programmes such as improving disclosure processes or restructuring, to process improvements (eg reporting processes) or smaller investigations.
  • Supporting understanding of actuals. This includes working with key stakeholders (FP&A, Group FP&A, Group Finance HQ and external auditors).
  • Ownership for various Group reporting deliverables.

Skills

  • Qualified Accountant**:
  • ACCA, ACA or CIMA (ideally from a top 10 audit firm but this isn't essential)**:
  • Educated to degree level or have equivalent professional experience ideally in a numerate discipline
  • Excellent communication, leadership and influencing skills with an ability to create and agree workable solutions.

Good, broad accounting experience with the ability to challenge at times:

  • A strong Finance aptitude with a track-record of delivering within committed timescales and maintaining customer focus.
  • Resilience, problem solving and good judgement this role is often the first call for issues and queries, for which no clear answer exists or prior knowledge available
