Due to significant expansion, exciting opportunities has arisen to join the project delivery team of one of Scotland's leading passive fire protection companies ADMAN, in the role of Passive Fire Protection
- Fire Stoppers. The company carry out a wide range of projects across a variety of locations within Scotland and continue to expand and grow.
Passive Fire Protection - Fire Stoppers
We are looking for an experienced fire stopper to join our team and help us deliver a number of projects in and around the Glasgow area.
Role objective
Fire
Stopping
Survey - an inspection to determine areas where the fire resisting construction has been breached and requires sealing.
Fire Stopping Remediation - any breaches that have been observed during the survey stage will need to be sealed and made good.
Role
You will be required to work without supervision but with managerial support and communicate with the client also on the progress of works.
Experience/Knowledge:
- Sound knowledge and experience of fire stopping techniques, products and materials
- Understanding of regulations of fire doors and the need to fire stop around door frames
- Understanding of regulations for compartmentation required between floors and around risk areas
- BS 476 and associated standards for fire resistance testing
- Have your own transport
- Appropriate CSCS Card
- NVQ level 3 (minimum) / NVQ in Passive Fire Protection (From what I could find this is the one that is relevant)
- An extensive understanding of Passive Fire Regulations
- To adhere to the company's quality procedures in all aspects of the job
- To act in a safe manner in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and requirements
- FIRAS card preferred but not required
- Must have their own tools
- Experience working in a team
- Must be willing to travel in the Glasgow area.
- Competent in the use of electronic devices smartphone and laptop, for the purposes of evidencing work as well as basic Microsoft Excel Skill
- Must have a good working knowledge of Fire Risk and Health & Safety procedures
- Operatives with Asbestosawareness and first aid training preferred
