Main purpose of the post
To carry out the Council's statutory legal regulatory services function, which includes Licensing, Rights of Way and Commons Registration.


Main duties and responsibilities

  • To carry out the duties of the Commons Registration Authority on behalf of the Council.
  • To undertake the duties associated with legal rights of way.
  • To maintain records, registers, databases and financial data.
  • To carry out daily enforcement duties which will also include working early mornings, evenings and at weekends.
  • To investigate complaints in respect of licensed persons, vehicles or premises.
  • To carry out interviews in accordance with the requirements of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act as required.
  • To deputise for the Legal Regulatory Services Manager at the Licensing and Gambling Acts Committee and Sub-Committee.
  • To provide appropriate support and training to the Legal Regulatory Services assistant as and when required

Be able to travel throughout Neath Port Talbot Borough


Welsh language
Welsh language skills are not required


DBS requirement
