Pay:
SCP7 (£11.62 per hour)


Overall Purpose of the Role:


You will be part of a small team, reporting to the Exams, Data and MIS Officer, responsible for ensuring the fair and proper conduct of both internal and external examinations that enables students to perform at their best.


Key Duties:


  • Report to and be briefed by the exams officer prior to each exam session.
  • Assisting with setting up exam rooms by displaying all notices, laying out
examination question papers and stationery in accordance with strict procedures.

  • Closely following and enforcing examination procedures and regulations
  • Keeping confidential exam question papers and materials secure before, during
and after exams.

  • Completing attendance registers.
  • Checking seating plans.
  • Dealing with late arrivals.

  • Reporting any incidents/ disruption/ irregularities/ malpractice.
  • Responding to any queries in accordance with exam regulations.

  • Check exam desks for any graffiti.
  • Collecting and collating all scripts, unused stationery and question papers before
  • Returning all scripts and materials securely to the Examinations Officer.
  • Any other duties delegated by the Examinations Officer.

Other Responsibilities

  • Undertake online invigilator training each academic year.
  • Attend, update and review sessions as required.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of the students you are responsible for or
come into contact with.

  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection,
health & Safety, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting any
concerns to an appropriate person.

  • Be aware of, support and ensure equal opportunities for all.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos of the school.
  • Appreciate and support the role of other professionals
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings/training as required.

To be aware of and work in accordance with the Brighton Aldridge Community Academy safeguarding child protection policies and procedures in order to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and to raise any concerns relating to such procedures which may be noted during the course of duty.


The post holder will be required to have a valid Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate and be re-checked every 3 years as per Brighton Aldridge Community Academy procedures.
