We employ circa 8,000 people globally, with our UK office functions being located in Maidenhead (Head Office), Sheffield (Customer Solutions Hub), London (Digital) and further offices in Gibraltar, which is home to our existing Rank Digital function, andMauritius which supports the Group.

We are looking for a qualified Senior Group Accountant with 5+ years of PQE gained in either a group finance function or a top accounting firm.

You'll be very strong technically, including consolidations, and with evidence of process and systems improvement.


You will be responsible for the preparation and completion of financial and management reporting for the Group, including reporting to our principal shareholder, statutory reporting and other activities to drive continuous improvement in current processes,supporting the aim of improving the quality and timeliness of reporting.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:


Year-end, Interim and Quarter Reporting:


  • Support the completion and production of the Group's consolidated results to support the Annual Report and external announcement and the preparation and review of the Annual Report and Accounts
  • Preparation of the likeforlike (LFL) analysis supporting the Annual Report and Accounts as well as the preparation and review of the external announcements (RNS) and slides
  • Responsible for all technical accounting aspects, including acquisitions and disposals, biannual impairment and provision reviews, going concern assessment, sharebased payments and postretirement benefit accounting

Statutory reporting:


  • Completing a range of the Group's UK and overseas subsidiary financial statements
  • Liaising with the Group's auditors in respect of the above processes

Parent company reporting:


  • Completion of all monthly reporting to the parent undertaking, quarterly consolidation packs and the presentations for the Quarterly Strategic Business Meetings
  • Responding to ad hoc financial information requests from parent undertaking

Management accounts:


  • Preparation of the consolidated monthly flash reporting of results (P&L) including driving continuous improvement in the quality and timeliness of flash reporting
  • Ownership of financial accounting for the Group's finance company, Rank Group Finance Plc, working closely with the Treasury Manager
  • Support the delivery of the monthly consolidated management results, including full consolidated income statement, balance sheet, working capital, cash flow and segmental analysis with commentary
  • Ensure controls and reconciliations are maintained over key accounts

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant: ACCA\ACA\CIMA with 5+ years PQE
  • Good system knowledge, ideally Dynamics 365, and experience in consolidation systems Jedox
  • Advanced Excel skills, with experience in macros and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to plan and manage own time effectively to ensure delivery against deadlines
  • A keenness to learn and understand the business and add value by using financial analysis to drive performance
